Harassing Website
« on: July 26, 2010, 11:03:11 PM »
Someone using a doteasy site created a web page, and it says terrible things about me and my business. Can doteasyremove their website? If the website gets removed, will this information still show on google when people search my business name?

The first step you should take to resolve these issues is to try to contact the website owner or administrator for resolution. Website owner/administrator information is publicly accessible through the public Whois database for .com, .net, .org domain name types. You may use the Whois lookup tool located at:
http://www.in2net.com/whois

If you have already taken this step without any success, please begin the legal actions you and your legal counsel determine to be necessary to serve a Cease and Desist order and to remove any material presented against you or your organization by this website. Please contact us (or have your attorney contact us) and provide us with a copy of your complaint filed with your local district court along with brief details on the basis of your complaint for our review.

When all of this information is available to us, we will review the case to determine if there is any violation of our Terms and Conditions and will then take any further actions which may be deemed necessary.

As for the search engine re-indexing, we don't not have the exact time. Google's robot will crawl the website content from time to time and when they see updates, they will re-index and update their list.
