Post by: Chao on December 24, 2010, 12:09:38 AM
I have created a link on my website that allows my viewers to click and open in a MS Word. However, when I try to open it, it does not open in MS Word and I am not sure how to solve this issue. Please help.

To open your file in Microsoft Word, you can add a MIME Type in your control panel to have ".docx" file opened as a Microsoft Word document. To do this, please see the following instructions:

1). Login to the Member Zone, https://member.doteasy.com/
2). Under the "Quick Reference" section, click "Site Admin Panel"
2). Under "Advanced", click "MIME Types"
3). Under "Create A MIME Type", enter the following information
- MIME Type: application/msword
- Extension(s): docx
4). Click "Add"

MINE Type for ".doc" file is already created by default.
